Da Nang adds 46 COVID-19 locally-acquired coronavirus infections on July 22

On Thursday, July 22, Da Nang registered 46 new COVID-19 patients, 37 of whom were detected during their stay in the city’s designated concentrated quarantine medical establishments, whilst the remaining ones were reported in the community.

In particular, 16 patients detected on Thursday were liked to an coronavirus-infected female worker in the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District. Till date, the number of positive cases relating to the infection chain at this company has climbed to 143. This infection chain is very highly transmissible, the local authorities warned.

Other High-risk infection chains are in Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra district; Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District; and Xuan Ha Ward, Thanh Khe District

Also on Thursday, a total of over 30,600 people across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.

For the time being, there are over 2,800 primary and more than 3,500 secondary contacts of COVID-19 patients across the city. All of the primary or close contacts are monitored at concentrated quarantine facilities, whilst the secondary contacts are under self-quarantine at their places of residence.

Also on Tuesday, about VND27 million in fines were imposed on 14 cases for going against COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

The total infections recorded in all local districts have climbed to 325 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported. Of them,  90 cases have been registered in Lien Chieu District, 62 in Cam Le District, 94 in Thanh Khe District, 33 in Hai Chau, 18 in Son Tra District, 14 in Hoa Vang District and 6 in Ngu Hanh Son District.
