Central Viet Nam is bracing on Friday for another bout of extreme heat due to the effects of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with the southwest monsoon, Viet Nam’s National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has said.

The maximum temperature is likely to touch over the 39-degrees Celsius mark in some places of the region today (July 30), according to national forecasters. Temperatures of 35 and 38 degrees Celsius will be common across Central Viet Nam.  The lowest humidity level in the region will be between 40% and 60%.

The heat is expected to linger in the region for several days.

In Da Nang, the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 38 degrees Celsius today.  Temperatures in the city are expected to peak tomorrow, Saturday (July 31), reaching as high as 39 degrees Celsius.

From August 1 into August 5, maximum temperatures are expected to settle from 35 - 38 degrees Celsius in Da Nang.
