Da Nang logs 28 COVID-19 cases on July 21, including one confirmed catching the virus in the fifth test
On Wednesday, July 21, Da Nang registered 28 new COVID-19 cases, thus bringing the total infections recorded in the city to 279 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported.
Of the total 28 confirmed patients, 16 were detected whilst they were in centralised medical quarantine facilities, whilst the remaining ones were reported in the community.
Some of the aforementioned patients are employees of agencies and businesses, namely the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, CMIC SHIFTZERO, UNI-PRESIDENT Viet Nam at Lot 14 Dien Nam-Dien Ngoc Industrial Park, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province, Mabuchi Moto Da Nang,Thanh Phuoc My company at 32 To Hien Thanh, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, Toi Uu (Optimize) Technical Trading Service Co., Ltd at 2 Le Doan Nha, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang Steel Joint Stock Company in Lien Chieu Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, Nam Thinh company at 34 Do Quang), Hong Bon Cuong company at 95 Tran Quy Khoach, Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District.
Also on Wednesday, a total of over 56,300 people across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.
On the same day, nearly VND30.2 million in fines were imposed on 8 cases for going against COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
For the time being, there are over 2,600 primary and more than 3,400 secondary contacts of COVID-19 patients across the city.
All of the primary or close contacts are monitored at concentrated quarantine facilities, whilst the secondary contacts are under self-quarantine at their places of residence.
