Da Nang strives to bring traffic accidents down by at least 5% in all 3 criteria
The Da Nang People's Committee has just issued plans on ensuring traffic order and safety, and implementing the ’5 No’s, 3 Yes’s’ programe and the 'City of 4 Safe Programmes' by 2025.
Under the approved plans, heads of all local departments, agencies and authorities must be responsible for inspecting, supervising and effectively performing tasks and solutions to ensure traffic order and safety across the city.
Special heed will be paid to promoting the dissemination of traffic laws and strictly handling acts of willful violation.
It is known that the plans set a number of goals to raise the sense of self-discipline of law enforcement among road users, build traffic culture, and develop traffic infrastructure in a synchronous and modern manner.
Every year, the city targets to reach a year-on-year decrease of at least 5% in the number of traffic accidents, deaths and injuries, as well as minimise the occurrence of especially serious traffic accidents, and avoid prolonged traffic jams.
Last year, there were no prolonged traffic jams reported in the city, whilst the number of road traffic accidents, especially the death tolls, dropped sharply. Da Nang people had higher level of private self-awareness in strictly obeying Viet Nam's national traffic regulations.
