Da Nang's daily coronavirus infections reduce to 16 on July 24

On Saturday, July 24, Da Nang registered 16 new COVID-19 patients, 3 of whom were registered in the community, whilst the remainder were detected during their stay in the city’s designated concentrated quarantine medical establishments, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported.

As for the 3 aforementioned patients found in the community, a woman residing on Ton That Tung Street, Vinh Trung Ward, Thanh Khe District, selling meat at the Nguyen Kim Supermarket’s market where a coronavirus infected shopper previously visited, went to the Thien Nhan clinic for COVID-19 testing. Finally, she tested positive for the deadly virus.

Another woman residing on Hoang Van Thai Street, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District tested positive for the virus over links to the infection cluster found at in the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park.

The remaining one, residing on Nguyen Van Cu street, Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, is a fish stall, holder at the Nam O market. She went to the Tho Quang fishing wharf which had been visited by a COVID-19 patient for the purchase of fish for sale.

July 10, the total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 378 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city.

All of them were linked to the total 23 infection chains. In particular, the infection chain liked to the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park is still very highly transmissible, the local authorities warned.

There are currently two infection chains which are at a high risk of further spread, namely to the Da Son slaughterhouse with 17 positive cases spotted, and the Tho Quang fishing wharf with 12.

Also on Saturday, a total of over 21,000 people across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.

For the time being, there are over 3,900 primary and more than 4,300 secondary contacts of COVID-19 patients across the city. All of the primary or close contacts are monitored at concentrated quarantine facilities, whilst the secondary contacts are under self-quarantine at their places of residence.

Also on Saturday, over VND21 million in fines were imposed on 21 cases for going against COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
