Disinfectant spraying in apartments in Hoa Khanh IP amid fears over high COVID-19 exposure risk

Staff members from the Centre for Chemical, Biological, Radioactive and Nuclear Incident Response in Central Viet Nam under the Chemical Corps, the Ministry of Defence conducted the spraying of disinfectant in all blockaded apartment buildings in the social housing complex in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (IP) throughout Monday night.

A total of 7 specialised vehicles and a total of 45 officers and soldiers from the Centre were assigned to carry out the disinfectant spraying as a preventive measure against the coronavirus

Due to the large area of the buildings and the high number of apartments, the spraying drive lasted for 4 odd hours until 1:00am Tuesday.

The buildings in the social housing complex in the Hoa Khanh IP has a combined total of 1,034 apartments.

Till date, 8 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the buildings of E1, E2, and B1A.

Currently, this apartment complex is under lockdown for the sake of COVID-19 prevention.

The coronavirus resurgence in Lien Chieu District remains complicated for the time being, the number of COVID-19 patients, along with their primary and secondary contacts, is expected to increase in the coming time, the local authorities warned.
