“Previously, the municipal Department of Tourism had conducted a survey in hotels across the city, and made a list of accredited quarantine hotels with the fees applicable to such quarantine. However, hotel quarantine cost is too expensive to arrivals and returnees from affected areas, especially migrant workers. This can result in difficulty for people who wish to return to Da Nang amid the complex developments of COVID-19 in some Vietnamese localities, especially Ho Chi Minh City”, Mr Chinh remarked.

Chairman Chinh urged the Ngu Hanh Son District authorities to re-use a local university as a designated quarantine facility in addition the dormitory in the west of the city, and the two sites will become the first ones in Da Nang for quarantining people coming and returning from affected areas.

In the coming time, it is suggested that authorities in districts across the city take the initiative in setting up more designated quarantine facilities to receive their local citizens who wish to return home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman Chinh directed.

The city leader asked the Department of Tourism to work with the health agency to continue surveying in local hotels to offer more accredited quarantine hotels with lower costs for arrivals and returnees from affected areas.

Mr Chinh directed police, military personnel and medical workers to deploy at quarantine hotels to make sure that these venues are sticking to COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

The city leader also called on every one across the city to continue taking action to shield and protect themselves and others from the deadly virus during the pandemic.
