A large amount of chili sauce violating the food hygiene and safety regulations at a warehouse at 189 Nguyen Chich, Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang has just been seized by local police forces.

Local forces detected and seized nearly 15 tonnes of chili sauce of unknown origin

Through unscheduled inspections on Thursday, functional forces discovered nearly 15 tonnes of chili sauce of no brand, no invoice, unknown origin and no certificate of proving food hygiene and safety.

The owner of the warehouse said the aforementioned products were purchased from a number of individuals in the central province of Quang Ngai, and they were expected to be sold at such downtown markets as Con and Han market and restaurants.

The chilli sauce was by grinding chillies with sugar, water and additives, and processed in unhygienic conditions.

The Lien Chieu District Economic Police Team temporarily seized all of the goods for verification, clarification and handling in line with regulations.
