The new measures, prompted by a rise in COVID-19 cases in these areas, were confirmed by the Da Nang Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Friday morning.

New restrictions have been enforced from 0am on July 17 until further notice.

Here's what you need to know about the new restrictions.

Movement and gathering

Residents must stay at home as much as possible, and only go out when absolutely for food, medicine, work or other essential services.

Residents must carry a face mask with them at all times when they leave home. You should clean your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub.

Gathering of more than two people is banned in public areas, but it is not applied to schools, workplaces or hospitals.

Outside of your home, you must keep a 2 metre distance from people at all times, as much as possible.

Residents from COVID-19 affected areas are banned from travelling to other localities, but make exceptions for providing food and essentials, transporting production materials, transporting workers and experts from and to their workplace.

Businesses and events

App-based delivery services are allowed to operate with proper precautions in place while public passenger transport service and motorcycle taxi-hailing services are suspended in the impacted areas.

Only stores selling essential items and pharmacies are allowed to remain open.

Production facilities, construction sites, traffic and construction works, essential businesses, banks, treasury, securities, postal and telecommunications service, transportation support services, import and export activities, medical facilities, funerals and other essential activities are allowed to operate while observing strict health protocols.
