Widespread hot weather set to affect Central Viet Nam from Monday into Wednesday
The Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has said that due to the effects of the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, widespread hot conditions are likely to prevail the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai today, July 12, and sweltering temperatures of 34 and 36 degree Celsius will be common across parts of the five provinces. The lowest humidity level in these localities will be between 50% and 60%.
In Da Nang, today will see mostly sunny skies with high temperatures between 33 and 35 degree Celsius. There are further warnings of potential showers and scattered thunderstorms in some parts of Da Nang in late afternoon and evening.
The hot conditions are expected to persist over a widespread area of Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang, for at least three days. Temperatures in Central Viet Nam will begin a trend of noticeably cooler weather on Thursday, July 17, and people in some places in the central region will see isolated hot days from Thursday.
