2 long-haul vehicle drivers found contracting COVID-19 whilst travelling through Da Nang checkpoint
The Da Nang Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has released a list of 106 new infections confirmed on August 29, of which 6 were detected in the community. Amongst the community-base patients were long-haul vehicle drivers from other localities who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 via rapid antigen tests at a checkpoint set up on the Lien Chieu bypass route whilst they were driving across Da Nang.
The 2 male drivers, both aged 41, are natives of the north-central provinces of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, respectively.
The duo are employees at the Cuong Trong Luong Company headquartered in the northern province of Hung Yen, operating on the Ha Noi - Ho Chi Minh City route.
Since August 26, 4 coronavirus- infected drivers from other localities have been detected via the rapid antigen testing whilst they were passing through Da Nang.
