545 recovered COVID-19 patients discharged in Da Nang since August 25

Additional 122 hospitalized COVID-19 patients were discharged from the field hospital at the dormitory in the west of the city, Hoa Vang District Medical Center, and the Lung Hospital on Tuesday, August 31, bringing the total number of recovered people to 545 since August 25, the Da Nang Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has confirmed.

After the patients completed three successive tests and the results came negative for COVID-19, doctors have declared them cured and so they are now discharged from the hospitals.

All patients’ clinical status is appropriate for discharge, and assessed to have stable and recovering respiratory function. They are no longer contagious and pose no risk to the public, the doctors said.

After discharges, the recoveries must complete 14 days isolation at home, and undergo COVID-19 testing in line with the Ministry of Health’s regulations.

Three patients died of COVID-19 complications on August 31, bringing the total death toll in Da Nang to 34 since the beginning of 2021.

Currently, 1,770 infected patients are being treated at the field hospital, 279 patients are under treatment at the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre, and 86 others are receiving treatment at the Lung Hospital.

Overall, 2,135 people, including 70 requiring critical care, are being treated for the coronavirus in Da Nang’s hospitals, of whom, 198 tested negative for the virus once while tests on 87 others came back negative twice.

14,365 doses of COVID-19 vaccines on August 31 were administered in Da Nang, bringing the total number of doses administered citywide till date to 202,358, of which, 164,526 people received the first dose while 37,832 others got their second shot.
