68 new COVID-19 infections identified in Da Nang on Aug.8, including 4 community-acquired ones
Da Nang reported 68 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, August 8, of which, 42 cases were in managed isolation, 22 were identified in local locked-down areas and only 4 were detected in the community, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.
Of the 4 community-acquired cases detected on Sunday, 2 cases were detected from the ‘one door, one test’ campaign whilst the rest were recorded from the sampling for COVID-19 testing at high-risk neighbourhoods.
In particular, 64 out of the total 68 cases registered on Sunday were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Son Tra District-based Tho Quang fishing wharf, bring the total infection here to 715 till date.
Son Tra District is still a coronavirus epicenter in Da Nang with the highest daily infection number, recording 50 cases on Sunday, namely 23 cases in Tho Quang Ward, 16 in Nai Hien Dong Ward, 6 in Man Thai Ward, two An Hai Bac Ward and Phuoc My Ward each.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 1,283 since July 10.
