76 more patients in Da Nang discharged to home following COVID-19 recovery
Seventy-six more people were released from the field hospital hospital at the dormitory in the west of the city, the Da Nang Lung Hospital and the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre on Monday, August 30, after being treated for COVID-19.
With this, the number of patients that have been discharged from Da Nang hospitals after recovering from coronavirus has hit 423 since August 25.
All of them were given the all-clear following thrice consecutive negative test results, and they show overall stable status, vital signs, normal organ function and improved chest X-ray readings.
After discharges, the recoveries must complete 14 days isolation at home, and undergo COVID-19 testing in line with the Ministry of Health’s regulations.
One patient died of COVID-19 complications on August 30, bringing the total death toll in Da Nang to 31 since the beginning of 2021.
Currently, 1,766 infected patients are being treated at the field hospital, 304 patients are under treatment at the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre, and 92 others are receiving treatment at the Lung Hospital.
Overall, 2,162 people, including 68 requiring critical care, are being treated for the coronavirus in Da Nang’s hospitals, of whom, 187 tested negative for the virus once while tests on 64 others came back negative twice.
The health agency is beefing up its efforts to set up a new field hospital for COVID-19 in the site of a student hall of residence on 8 Ha Van Tinh, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District. The new field hospital will be become the third campus of Da Nang Hospital which can accommodate 2,000 beds at maximum. In the first phase, 3 blocks of the dormitory will be used to provide 1,000 beds for COVID-19 patients.
