Control of entry/ exit through checkpoints at Da Nang's entry points intensified

Da Nang is on course to speed up COVID-19 testing and contact tracing in tandem with tightening ‘the outer ring’ as part of the current Covid-19 prevention and control strategy in a bid to cut off infection sources.

Functional local forces, comprising police, medical, military, border guards, militia, Youth Union members, have been on duty around the clock at all checkpoints set at the city’s entrance gates for nearly 3 months now.

Getting dressed in stuffy prospective outfits, under the scorching weather, the “unsung heroes’ have still been diligently performing their assigned tasks to their highest level of potential and responsibility.

As observed on Thursday, at the checkpoints, despite the hot weather and hardships, the inter-sectoral forces still strictly guided those onboard vehicles to stop for checks.

All road users are pull over by the enforcement force to have their body temperature measured, make medical declarations by automatic QR-Code scanners and present their negative SARS-CoV-2 test results for their entry into the city.

On Wednesday, August 18, 21 COVID-19 checkpoints set at the city’s gateways, the inter-agency forces checked 4,749 vehicles, namely 30 motorcycles, 4,719 cars.

A total of 6,933 road users had their body temperature checked and declare their health status.

Also, 30 cases were banned from entering the city due to failing to comply with the mandatory COVID-19 preventive rules.
