Amid the complex developments of COVID-19 pandemic, the Da Nang government has announced that people entering Da Nang must undergo the COVID-19 rapid antigen test.

People coming from other Vietnamese localities, especially from COVID-19 affected areas, must be checked at checkpoints at points of entry on Ta Quang Buu route in Lien Chieu District, Hoa Nhon and Hoa Phuoc traffic police stations. They will be allowed to enter Da Nang only after undergoing the coronavirus test.

The new rules came into force at 0am on August 19 until further notice as a blanket policy to prevent COVID-19 importations.

Antigen rapid testing is introduced to screen all people entering Da Nang, and swift action will be taken to isolate those who test positive for COVID-19. They will be then transferred to district-level medical centres to get RT-PCR tests to confirm the SARS-CoV-2 infection and receive treatment.

Testing sites at checkpoints must have adequate space to maintain social distancing, with separate entry and exit points, areas for people waiting to be get tested and to receive their test results, areas for collecting samples and isolating positive cases.
