Da Nang Party Chief asks for enhanced COVID control measures to promote expansion of green zones
Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Sunday afternoon asked authorities at local level to continue applying enhanced COVID-19 control measures to protect safe or green zones, and promote the expansion of such zones across the city.

Secretary Quang demanded the health agency to consider extending self-isolation and mandatory quarantine period for high-risk contacts and household contacts. Authorities at local level, especially in Cam Le District, must pay special attention to taking all necessary measures to reduce the risk of transmission in families between their members and persons who have completed their completed mandatory period.
Mr Quang highlighted need for applying effective measures to prevent the spread of the virus in alleys with such measures as installing more surveillance cameras. Ngu Hanh Son District has installed a large number of surveillance cameras in residential settings, especially alleys, contributing to lowering COVID-19 infections in recent days, he remarked.
The Da Nang top leader urged authorities in Cam Le District which recorded the highest number of cases in the city on Sunday, August 29, to strengthen measures to control the spread of the virus in emerging COVID-19 hotspots.
Mr Quang directed Thanh Khe District authorities to enhance surveillance on the red zone for COVID-19 risk on Tran Cao Van Street, the section from the intersection of Ong Ich Khiem with Ha Huy Tap, especially the area in Tam Thuan Ward. The focus must be on setting up more checkpoints and deploying more guards to these venues to tighten controls at the red zone, he emphasized.
The Da Nang Party Chief asked the municipal Police Department to issue travel permits for drivers of vehicles carrying construction materials to sites of key projects which are underway in the city.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh called on officials to take more drastic action to protect green zones and gradually lower COVID-19 risk zones.
The Da Nang government has approved to open one more processing line in the Da Son Slaughterhouse in an attempt to ensure the city has a safe supply of meat products. The municipal Department of Industry and Trade were asked to continue its efforts to ensure food security in the city while local residents are under strict stay-at-home mandates.
Chairman Chinh urged authorities at local level and their local healthcare centres to take action to make sure that all staff of food retailers, and their delivery staff, including app-based shippers, undergo COVID-19 testing every 3 days.
The municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and relevant agencies were asked to work closely to ensure they city can deliver targeted and timely support that gets where it needs to be as quickly as possible.
