Da Nang police handle hundreds of COVID-19 curb violators
4,201 police officers on Tuesday, August 17, were deployed to 460 checkpoints across Da Nang, and 668 patrol teams were set up. Officers conducted COVID-19 checks on 4,445 vehicles involving 4,835 people, during which, 549 people were found violating the city’s COVID-19 rules.
In addition, police issued fines to 67 people who break the city’s Health Protection Regulations, including the stay-at-home, face mask and social distancing rules.
Interdisciplinary teams detected 104 cases involving 109 people who violate COVID-19 regulations, and imposed administrative penalties on 21 cases, with VND 121 million worth of fines
At noon on August 17, officers in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, found two men, both residing in Xuan Ha Ward, roaming on Ky Dong Street, and they were invited into the police station for an interview. The two men tested positive for drugs. Fines totalling VND 16.5 million were imposed on the two men.
On the same day, police in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, found a man buying coffee at Hibaba Shop located at 74 on Nguyen Do Cung Street. The man and the coffee shop owner admitted wrongdoing, and they will face administrative penalties for their offences.
