Da Nang ramps up COVID-19 vaccination drive amid tougher COVID-19 restrictions

In order to ensure the progress of universal immunisation coverage for herd immunity across Da Nang by the end of 2021, the city's healthcare sector is speeding up the vaccination rollout for some priority subjects, namely citizens with underlying medical conditions, the elderly, workers at some enterprises. Getting vaccines are not only a right for themselves but also a responsibility towards the city.

According to Doctor Ngo Thi Kim Yen, the Director of the city's Department of Health, in order to effectively deploy the large-scale vaccination campaign, there are10 inoculation sites with a combined total of 100 injection teams.

“If the amount of vaccine is provided in sufficient and timely manner plus the current scientific, methodical and detailed implementation, by the end of 2021, it is highly possible to vaccinate all people aged 18 and above across the city will get vaccinated against the deadly virus.

On Tuesday morning, at local vaccination points in the city, functional local forces and voluntary teams quipped with protective gears enthusiastically guided the would-be- vaccinated people to line up and keep a required distance from others, have their body temperature measured, get their hands disinfected and make medical declarations.

All COVID-19 vaccination site must meet strict standards for storing and preserving the vaccines, be arranged to include designated areas for reception, waiting, clinical screening, vaccination rooms, post-injection monitoring rooms, and anaphylactic treatment rooms with one-way rule, be equipped with anaphylactic treatment boxes, and comply with epidemic prevention regulations.
