Da Nang reports 74 new COVID-19 infections on Aug 10, only one community-acquired case
Da Nang reported 74 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, August 10, of which, 53 were in managed isolation, 20 were detected in local lockdown areas and the remaining one was found in the community, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.
Notably, the only one COVID-19 patient recorded in the community is a 57-year-old resident in An Ngai Tay village, Hoa Son Commune, Hoa Vang District. This patient had gone to a medical centre for checkups due to the display of some suspicious symptoms, and then tested positive for the deadly virus.
As for an epidemiological investigation released by the local medical force, previously, on July 27 and 28, this patient attended a funeral visited by a coronavirus infected person who was linked to a highly transmissible infection chain at the Son Tra District-based Tho Quang fishing wharf.
In particular, 65 out of the total 74 cases identified on Tuesday were linked to the Tho Quang fishing wharf, bring the total infection here to 836 till date.
Son Tra District is, for the time being, still a coronavirus epicenter in Da Nang with the highest daily infection number recorded on Tuesday, including 17 cases in Nai Hien Dong Ward and Man Thai Ward each, 7 in Tho Quang Ward and 3 An Hai Dong Ward.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 1,417 since July 10.
