Da Nang's daily COVID-1 infection count significantly down to 54 COVID-19 cases on Aug.30, including 6 detected in community
Da Nang confirmed 54 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, August 30, of which, 22 were in designated quarantine facilities, 9 were self-isolating at home, 17 were identified in locked down areas and the remaining 6 were detected in the community, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.
The 6 community-found cases were detected via the ongoing the ‘one door- one test’ campaign with testing applied to household representatives across the city, including one each in Cam Le District’s Hoa Phat Ward, Hai Chau District’s Hoa Thuan Tay Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward and Thanh Khe District’s Chinh Gian Ward, and 2 in Thanh Khe District’s Tan Chinh Ward.
Out of the 6 new community transmission cases, 2 detected in Hoa Hai and Hoa Thuan Tay wards as mentioned above were of unknown sources of infection.
As calculated, an additional 11 new cases were recorded via the mass testing on the representatives of all local households, bringing the total infections till date to 275.
The infection cluster at the shut-down Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, shown signs of subsiding with 34 cases detected on Monday.
Amongst the local districts, Hai Chau recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases on the review day with 23, followed by Thanh Khe and Cam Le with 12 each, Lien Chieu with 5, and Ngu Hanh Son with 1.
Particularly, Son Tra and Hoa Vang districts are the two localities that have not recorded new cases today.
Currently, there are 7 wards and communes without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, including Hai Chau 2, Nam Duong and Phuoc Ninh in Hai Chau District, An Hai Bac in Son Tra District, and Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Ninh in Hoa Vang District.
The day's number has pushed the city’s tally in the ongoing wave since July 10 to 3,926.
