Da Nang's daily COVID-19 count hits 91 on Aug. 14, including 3 spotted in the community

Da Nang reported 91 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, August 14, of which, of which, 81 were in managed isolation, 7 were identified in local lockdown areas and the remainder were detected in the community, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.

All of the 3 community-acquired cases were related to the emerging cluster of infections identified at the Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam. They had previously come to medical facilities for checkups and COVID testing due to the displaying of some suspicious symptoms.  

It is highly concerning that 60 out of the 91 positive cases were linked the high-risk infection chain at the Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market.

The 91 COVID-19 cases were recorded in many districts, namely 10 cases in Son Tra, 11 in Thanh Khe, 4 in Lien Chieu, 7 in Cam Le, 29 in Hai Chau, 9 in Ngu Hanh Son  and 8 in Hoa Vang.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 1,700 since July 10.
