Da Nang's daily COVID-19 infection number climbs to 123 on Aug.31 including 12 detected in the community
Da Nang reported 123 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, August 31, of which, 47 were in designated quarantine facilities, 22 were self-isolating at home, 42 were identified in locked down areas and the remaining 12 were detected in the community.
Out of the 12 community-based cases, 8 cases were detected via the ongoing the ‘one door- one test’ campaign with testing applied to household representatives across the city, namely 2 cases in Hoa Tho Dong and Khue Trung wards, respectively, Cam Le District, 2 in Hoa Cuong Bac and Thuan Phuoc wards, respectively, Hai Chau District, 1 in Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District, and 3 in Xuan Ha Ward, Thanh Khe District.
As for the remaining community-found ones, 2 were members on duty at checkpoints in Tam Thuan Ward, Thanh Khe District, another was detected via the large-scale sampling for COVID-19 testing in An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District and the remaining one was taken to the emergency room at the C Hospital due to the display of suspicious symptoms.
Six out of the 12 community-acquired cases were unknown source of infection.
The infection cluster at the shut-down Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, recoded 68 cases on Tuesday, bringing the infection tally here to 1,522 till date.
Amongst the local districts, Thanh Khe recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases on the review day with 46, followed by Hai Chau with 35, Cam Le with 25, Son Tra with 8, Lien Chieu with 4, Hoa Vang with 3 and Ngu Hanh Son 2.
Currently, there are7 wards and communes without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, including Hai Chau II, Nam Duong and Phuoc Ninh wards in Hai Chau District, Hoa Bac and Hoa Khuong communes in Hoa Vang District and An Hai Bac Ward in Son Tra District.
The day's number has pushed the city’s tally in the ongoing wave since July 10 to 4,049.
