The Da Nang Party Chief stated that not only narrow alleys on Tran Cao Van Street in Thanh Khe District but also small locked down areas across the city are high-risk places for spreading the coronavirus.

Mr Quang directed the municipal Centre for Disease Control and Prevention to create the city’s COVID-19 management plan which will set out how a high-risk activity will be managed to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 between residents in their places of residence, especially narrow alleys. The focus must be tightening monitoring on people in locked down areas with such stronger measures as deploying more guards to checkpoints, increasing foot patrols in locked down areas to enforce stay-at-home orders and take action against COVID-19 rule violators, he emphasized.

Secretary Quang demanded the health agency to take proactive action to roll out the third round of the citywide mass testing in the most effective way to find all cases in efforts to successfully control the spread of the virus as soon as possible with strong determination. In addition, the health agency was asked to maximize the use of available resources to treat COVID-19 patients in order to help them make a full recovery from illness.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh expressed his great concern about COVID-19-related neglect of residents in some residential areas, especially apartment buildings, stated that they do not follow COVID-19 health and safety precautions after being tested negative for the virus twice or thrice.

He, therefore, is calling on every one across Da Nang to have a part to play in the city’s tough battle against deadly disease, and continue showing their willingness to comply with the recommended COVID-19 prevention measures in order to keep themselves and others safe and healthy, and prevent the spread of the virus in their residential areas.

The city government leader urged the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs to develop policies and resources to provide timely support for vulnerable groups impacted by COVID-19, including homeless and underprivileged people, vagrants in accordance with the guidelines from national and municipal governments.
