A total of 40,950 eligible people in Da Nang will get Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from August 19 -26, the Da Nang Department of Health has announced.

A total of 54,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses have been delivered into two batches to Da Nang by the Ministry of Health.

Accordingly, 24,592 people who got a first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine will get their second doses from today, August 19. Their first shots were given from June 14- 24. In addition, 16,358 eligible people will receive their first dose of the vaccine.

Vaccine recipients are workers in Lien Chieu District based industrial park, those working in essential services, volunteers who are helping in the fight against COVID-19.

The vaccinations will be carried out in four vaccination centres, namely the Tien Son Sports Arena, the Cancer Hospital, the Da Nang International Exhibition Fair Centre, and the Ngu Hanh Son District Sports and Culture House. In addition, two mobile vaccination teams will be deployed to local lockdown areas to administer COVID-19 vaccine to eligible people.

41 vaccination teams will be deployed to the four vaccination centres while 14 others will be sent to Lien Chieu District based industrial park.
