Residents and forces at local level play key role in Da Nang's success in beating COVID-19
Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Monday afternoon highlighted huge efforts the taskforce made on first day of tougher COVID-19 curbs to ensure strict implementation of the new restrictions and guidelines imposed by the city administration.
The city Party Chief praised police officers and staff for their efforts in keeping people off the streets for non-essential activity, and ensure that all residents are socially isolating themselves under the direction of the municipal government.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Secretary Quang appreciated all people in Da Nang for their compliance with new restrictions that are introduced for the containment of COVID-19, and called on them to continue to stick to advice and guidance on infection prevention and control from the municipal government and health bodies.
Mr Quang called on officials to pay special attention to providing food support for the needy, policy beneficiary families, the unemployed, expats in the city, workers living in rented accommodation.
Secretary Quang affirmed that ‘leaving no one behind’ is a core commitment of the municipal government and a key priority for authorities at local level with ensuring the supply of food and essential items for all people across the city during 7 days of imposition of tougher COVID-19 restrictions.
He also highlighted the vital role of every one across the city and forces at local level to the city’s success in beating COVID-19.
Mr Quang stressed the need for authorities at local level to timely report violations of the city’s COVID-19 rules, and multiply the good deeds of landlords who have reduced or exempted rental fees for tenants who have lost jobs or have suffered financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also called for tighter controls at entry and exit points in Da Nang in a bid to reduce transmission risk from imported SARS-CoV-2 infections from arrivals. People who are allowed entry into the city must undergo COVID-19 rapid tests, Mr Quang emphasized.
Mr Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, the Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Council asked district authorities to work with trade unions and relevant agencies to mobilize more resources to support immigrant workers in the city.

Sun Group has already provided support for 30,000 out of around 52,000 families in difficult circumstances in Da Nang. Mr Triet directed district authorities to mobilize local resources to support the remaining families.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh emphasized a 'five-no' approach to Da Nang’s success in the fight against the deadly disease. This approach consists of no inadequate practice, no shortage of food and COVID-19 - related information for local residents, no cross-contamination and missed COVID-19 testing, no false or misleading information about coronavirus pandemic, no gatherings in local lockdown areas, designated quarantine facilities and residential areas.
“It is hoped that Da Nang will successfully control the spread of COVID-19 within 7 days thanks to strong determination of authorities at local level and relevant agencies, and the willingness of local residents to comply with the new restrictions and guidelines imposed by the city government. It is 7 golden days for the containment of COVID-19. Therefore, the focus must be paid on intensifying the enforcement of new restrictions to make sure that each individual in the city is obeying strict stay-at-home orders or face hash penalties for non-adherence" said Chairman Chinh.
Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh said that the city has received a combined total of 3,600 tons of vegetables and fruits in donations from businesses and neighbouring localities to distribute them to local residents. Besides, the city will re-open some traditional markets with least 2 locations in each district.
Colonel Tran Dinh Chung, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Police Department, said that police on Monday detected 128 people who leave home without a reasonable excuse, and issued fines to 10 violators of the city’s COVID-19 rules.
