Secretary Quang stated that Da Nang saw a significant decline in new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, August 28, as the management effectiveness in alleys and locked down areas is improving. He, therefore, called for continued efforts to step up the city’s response to coronavirus in a bid to contain the pandemic.
“Currently, Hoa Ninh, Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong communes, all in Hoa Vang District, and An Hai Bac Ward in Son Tra District are classified as falling under the Green Zone. This proves that Da Nang is getting positive signals in its battle against the deadly disease. The positive outcomes are mainly attributed to great efforts of authorities at local level and relevant agencies”, Mr Quang remarked.
The Da Nang top leader highlighted key role of authorities at local level and local residents in protecting their safe or green zones with strong determination.
Mr Quang asked the health agency to consider administering COVID-19 vaccines in green zones for shielding COVID-19 free areas as part of the city’s long-term strategies to control COVID-19 pandemic.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh called on authorities at local level and relevant agencies to take the initiative and seek innovations for ensuring the supply of food items for local residents while they are under strict stay-at-home orders.
Mr Chinh praised Da Nang police for their efforts in opening mobile selling points to offer food and essentials at the affordable price amid the city’s stay-at-home mandates in an attempt to support the city’s efforts in its tough battle against the deadly disease.
Chairman Chinh directed police officers and staff to strengthen COVID-19 prevention measures in their selling points to keep themselves and others safe.
He also highlighted need for enhancing surveillance of opening wet markets across the city amid the complex developments of COVID-19 in efforts to make sure that all stall holders and patrons are sticking to the recommended precautions for COVID-19.
A total of 1,744 arrivals on August 28 underwent rapid antigen test for COVID-19 at entry points in Da Nang and one tested positive for the virus.
Mr Chinh highlighted the importance of conducting rapid COVID-19 testing for all arrivals at entry points in early detecting positive cases and reducing the risk of importation of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
