A large fire which broke out on August 20 noon on the Thanh Vinh Mountain, Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, has been brought under control.

The huge blaze destroyed about 2 -3 hectares of acacia and shrub plantations, said Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Director of the municipal Forest Protection Department Tran Viet Phuong.

Dozens of people, including forest rangers, firefighters, police officers and military men in Lien Chieu District, made joint efforts to extinguish the large fire.

As of the evening of the same day, the forces had narrowed the area of the fire much more than before.

From now on, the field will be cooled off and other actions will follow

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
