Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Tuesday, paid inspection visits to COVID-19 checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways and the Area A as part of the E2 apartment building complex in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District. The move aimed to monitor the public compliance with compulsory safety regulations against the deadly virus.

Whilst visiting the Area A as part of the E2 apartment building complex in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, the city’s top leader underlined a must-do for functional bodies to tighten the practice of proactive measures against COVID-19 in apartment buildings district-wide in general amid a very high risk of cross- infection.

“The risk of cross-infection in apartment buildings is high. If a positive case is detected, the virus is highly likely to spread on the whole apartment floor. Therefore, residents living there must avoid coming into contact with others”, said Secretary Quang.

It is known that, since August 28, the second floor of the Area A of the E2 Hoa Xuan apartment building complex has documented 17 COVID-19 cases.

During his inspection of the C21 checkpoint set up at the entrance to the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and industrial zones, Secretary Quang highly appreciated their task forces for their great efforts and high level of responsibility at work.

The city’s Party chief lauded the conduction of rapid antigen tests for all road users passing through the checkpoints as a necessary measure to minimise the penetration of more COVID-19 cases into the city in light of the ongoing application of heightened movement curbs onto the entire population.

This is one of the basic pandemic prevention and control requirements, creating favourable conditions for drivers to pass the checkpoint in a smooth and safe manner.

The city leader also visited and extended his words of great encouragement to those who are on duty at checkpoints C5 and C22 in Hoa Phuoc Commune and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, respectively.

He hoped that the functional forces would continue to perform their assigned tasks well in the coming time, hereby contributing to the good control of the current coronavirus wave at the soonest.
