About 32,200 eligible people in Da Nang will get their first dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from September 1 -5, the Da Nang Department of Health announced on Wednesday.

Da Nang vaccine recipients on the ongoing rollout process are 4,386 people who are helping the city’s fight against COVID-19 across districts, wards and communes along with members of COVID-19 prevention and control committees at all levels, 6,901 employees in industrial parks and industrial clusters, and 2,575 people working in construction sites of the city’s 24 key projects.

In addition, the city will administer vaccines to 14,156 people who are teaching staff working in early childhood and school education, 453 people who are religious dignitaries, 3,000 people working in essential transport services under the management of the municipal Department of Transport, and 777 pharmacists working at pharmacies across the city.

The vaccinations will be carried out in five vaccination centres, namely the Thanh Khe District Sports and Culture Centre, the Da Nang International Exhibition Fair Centre, the student hall of residence in the west of the city, the Son Tra District Sports and Culture Centre, and Lien Chieu District- based industrial park.

A total of 35 vaccination teams are being deployed to the five vaccination centres.
