Many DA NANG Newspaper readers have recently wondered whether or not parents can stay with their children infected with COVID-19 in medical facilities in order take care of them during the treatment.

Official Dispatch No. 7020/BYT-MT dated August 25, 2021, adopted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health regarding COVID-19 preventive quarantine rules applied to children, clearly states that parents/caregivers are allowed to stay with their coronavirus-contracting children in medical facilities, COVID-19 treatment establishment or designed quarantine sites.

Also, they can stay with children during the at-home quarantine period to take care of them on a voluntary basis.

Of special note, the adults must make commitments to fully comply with all mandatory safety regulations against COVID-19.

In case the parents/caregivers cannot accompany or stay with the infected children, the local government will assign certain staff members on duty in the healthcare facilities and designed quarantine sites, or volunteers here, to give the best child care.

These people must possess knowledge and skills in caring for children, ensuring that all conditions are met as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 63 of the Law on Children No. 102/ 2016/QH13.

Also, they are highly recommend to ensure regular contact between children with their parents and other beloved ones during the time away from family.
