Da Nang citizens allowed to go outside to strengthen homes against Typhoon Conson amid COVID restrictions
During their meeting with members of the Da Nang COVID-19 Monitoring Committee on Thursday afternoon, both municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh directed authorities at local level to allow their local residents to go outside to strengthen their homes against Typhoon Conson which is gaining strength over the East Sea amid COVID-19 restrictions.

Mr Triet also highlighted need to take proactive action to evacuate people in the most landslide-prone areas to a safe place with proper precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in place. The health agency was asked to provide the guidance on isolation for fishermen who will anchor their boats in the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf to find storm shelter.
Mr Triet called on all citizens to strictly respect and fully comply with the recommended preventive measures, social distancing and stay-at-home mandates, as part of the strengthening of preventive measures against COVID-19 in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.
He also demanded authorities at local level to take all necessary measures to ensure the welfare of local residents and facilitate them to access healthcare services amid the city's stay-at-home mandates.
He also stressed the need to enhance public trust in the city’s policy responses to COVID-19 in order to help them show their willingness to work together with the municipal government to fight the deadly disease.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh asked authorities at local level to identify appropriate measures to control COVID-19 for high-risk areas which have been lifted lockdown order.
Mr Chinh called for speedy and thorough investigations into a positive case confirmed in a driver employed by the Men Hoa Trading Co., Ltd in the Expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District. The Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks was asked to deter COVID-19 rule violators by imposing harsh punishments against this company for breaking COVID-19 regulations.
Chairman Chinh stressed the need for the taskforce at COVID-19 checkpoints to tighten controls on arrivals at all entry points and conduct rapid antigen testing for all drivers of vehicles entering the city.
The municipal government leader called on people in apartment buildings and alleys to strictly follow the city’s stay-at-home mandates and isolate themselves in line with the current direction.
Authorities at local level were urged to take action to evacuate people in crowded narrow alleys to safe places in an attempt to prevent cross infection in these high-risk areas.
