Da Nang confirms 34 COVID-19 infections on Sept.7, including 1 detected in the community
Da Nang recorded 34 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, September 7, of which, 24 were in found in designated quarantine facilities, 6 were self-isolating at home, 3 were identified in locked down areas and the remaining one was acquired in the community.
The only one community transmission case was a 31-year-old resident in the Phong Bac apartment building, Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District. The patient had come to the Cam Le District Medical Centre due to the showing of suspicious symptoms. The representative of the patient's family had tested negative for the coronavirus on August 20 and September 1, respectively. The source of the infection has remained unknown.
As calculated, the infection cluster linked to the ‘one door- one test’ campaign is now still at a high risk of further COVID-19 spread with 10 cases documented on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the infection chain at the already-shut-down Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, was well control, with 5 cases detected on the same day.
Amongst the local districts, Cam Le recorded the highest number of 14, followed by Thanh Khe and Hai Chau with 8 each, Lien Chieu with 2, Son Tra and Lien Chieu with one each.
Currently, there are 18 out of the total 56 wards and communes across the city without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, namely Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Tien, Hoa Phu, Hoa Lien, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong communes in Hoa Vang District, the An Hai Bac, Man Thai, An Hai Tay, Phuoc My, Nai Hien Dong, Tho Quang in Son Tra District, Hoa Quy Ward in Ngu Hanh Son District, and the Phuoc Ninh, Nam Duong, Hai Chau 1 wards in Hai Chau District, and Thanh Khe District’s Hoa Khe Ward.
The city’s COVID-19 infection tally in the ongoing wave has hit 4,435 since July 10.
