Da Nang leaders require voluntary cooperation from citizens to comply with COVID-19 guidance in new normal

Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Wednesday afternoon encouraged voluntary cooperation of citizens, organisations and businesses to fully adhere to the city’s guidelines and recommendations for the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the new normal amid COVID-19.

Mr Quang said that the city is gradually returning to normal in the COVID-19 era as the pandemic has been brought under control. He remarked that the municipal administration has set out roadmap to cautiously ease restrictions in order to provide a route back to a more normal way of life amid COVID-19.

Busineses and services that are allowed to reopen must put in place strictest health measures to prevent the spread of the virus or face harsh penalties and shutdown order for non-compliance, Mr Quang emphasized.

People entering and leaving Da Nang must complete a health control form online on the city-developed app and obtain their QR Code, to show it at the checkpoints upon entry and exit. These will be helpful for contact tracing of confirmed cases.

The Da Nang top leader called on every one across the city to take action to protect themselves and others, and full adherence to COVID‐19 precautionary measures is compulsory for crowded venues. Public compliance with COVID-19 rules seems to be a decisive factor in controlling the spread of SARS-CoV2.

Mr Quang said that further relaxation of restrictions will depend greatly on how adherence to public health measures among citizens, businesses, organizations as well as local authority COVID-19 compliance and enforcemence.

Municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet asked authorities at local level to give recommendations to the municipal administration to provide timely support for vulnerable groups, including manual workers, street vendors, shoeshiners, and children whose parents have been infected with COVID-19.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh highlighted the need for businesses in industrial parks to adopt effective control measures in a bid to provide a safe and secure workplace for their employees.

Mr Chinh directed the municipal Department of Tourism to work with authorities in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts to tighten controls at beaches and enhance surveillance of beach-goers to make sure that they are sticking to the recommended prevention measures to keep themselves and others safe.

Chairman Chinh also asked authoritites at local level to clean and disinfect schools to welcome students back to the classroom in the coming time.
