Da Nang plans to vaccinate all adults aged 18-65 for COVID-19

During his meeting with members of the Da Nang COVID-19 Monitoring Committee on Sunday afternoon, September 12, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh remarked that more doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be distributed in the city in the coming time that are enough to inoculate all adults aged 18 to 65 years old.

Chairman Chinh directed authorities at local level to develop action plan to prepare for large-scale vaccination program in a bid to roll out the administration of COVID vaccines for all adults in their local areas in a safe, appropriate and timely way. The intention is to ensure that the entire adult population in Da Nang receives a COVID-19 vaccination, Mr Chinh said.

He highlighted need to take effective measures to ensure equitable and timely access to COVID-19 financial support packages for eligible beneficiaries in an attempt make sure no one is left behind amid COVID-19 crisis.

The city leader stated that there are a low number of COVID-19 close contacts who are being placed in quarantine in Hoa Vang District’s schools used as temporary designated quarantine sites. He, therefore, urged authorities in Hoa Vang District to carry out deep disinfection, cleaning and sanitization in these schools after remaining quarantined people leave these venues.

Mr Chinh said that the municipal administration will look at the COVID-19 situation in Hoa Vang District to consider allowing pupils to return to class with proper precautions in place.
