Da Nang ramps up cleanup efforts after storm Conson

Cleanup efforts were carried out on Sunday morning to ramp up in Da Nang following storm Conson. The task forces were deployed across the city to clear fallen trees and debris from streets as well as clean storm drains and then return to COVID-19 checkpoints to perform their duties as quickly as possible.

The Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting on Sunday morning said that due to the influence of the circulation in a tropical depression downgraded from storm Conson, localities from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces will see widespread and persistent, heavy rain from Sunday into Monday, September 13.

Rainfall totals of 60 - 120mm will be common in Quang Binh Province, and more than 200mm in some places.  People in Quang Tri Province can expect 100-180mm of rain, more than 250mm in some places. 100-200mm of rain are expected for Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam, more than 250mm in some places.  50-150mm of rain are possible in Quang Ngai Province, more than 250mm in some places.

At 9:00 am today, September 12, the center of the tropical depression was positioned at about 15.30 North latitude and 1090 East longitude, close to the coast of Binh Son District, Quang Ngai Province with maximum sustained wind of level 6-7 with gusts of level 9. It is forecasted that until the midday today, September 12, the tropical depression could still slowly move.
