Da Nang records 11 COVID-19 cases on Sept.14, including one community transmission

Da Nang confirmed 11 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, September 14, of which 10 were in found in the designated quarantine facilities and the remaining one was identified in the community.

The community transmission case is an 40 –year-old resident in Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District, working at the Acecook company. The patient had previously come into close contact with an infected person, and tested negative for the coronavirus 4 times: August 26, 31 and September 8, 10.

For the time being, the infection cluster linked to the ongoing ‘one door- one test’ campaign with testing applied to household representatives is still at a high risk of further COVID-19 spread with 7 cases detected on Tuesday.

As calculated, out the total 11 new cases, 4 were documented in Thanh Khe District, 2 each in Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts, and one each in Hai Chau and Cam Le districts, and the remaining one was a returnee from coronavirus-stricken neighbouring Quang Nam Province.

Notably, Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts recorded no new cases on Tuesday.

The number of wards/communes labelled as ‘green zones” at a low risk of COVID-19 spread, without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, has climbed to 28 out of the total 56.

They are the communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Tien, Hoa Phu, Hoa Lien, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong, Hoa Phuoc and Hoa Ninh in Hoa Vang District, the wards of An Hai Bac, Man Thai, An Hai Tay, Phuoc My, Nai Hien Dong and Tho Quang in Son Tra District, the wards of Hoa Quy, Hoa Hai, My An and Khue My in Ngu Hanh Son District, the wards of Phuoc Ninh, Nam Duong, Hai Chau 1, Hoa Cuong Nam, Hai Chau 2, and Binh Hien in Hai Chau District and the wards of Hoa Khe, Thanh Khe Dong and Thac Gian in Thanh Khe District.

In particular, Ngu Hanh Son is the first district in Da Nang to be recognised as ‘green district’ which is now free from the virus.

The city’s COVID-19 infection tally in the ongoing wave has climbed to 4,585 since July 10.
