Da Nang reports 55 COVID-19 cases on Sept.1, including 3 detected in the community
Da Nang reported 55 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, September 1, of which, 26 were in found in designated quarantine facilities,15 were self-isolating at home, 11 were identified in locked down areas and the remaining 3 were acquired in the community.
The total 3 community-based cases were detected via the ongoing the ‘one door- one test’ campaign with testing applied to household representatives across the city, with one each in alley No. 408 Hoang Dieu, Binh Thuan Ward, Hai Chau District, on Nguyen Huy Tuong Street, Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District and alley No. 424 Ong Ich Khiem, Vinh Trung Ward, Thanh Khe District. The trio were of unknown sources of infections.
The infection cluster linked to the ‘one door- one test’ campaign documented 18 cases on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the infection chain at the already-shut-down Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, showed signs of subsiding with 30 cases detected on the same day.
Amongst the local districts, Cam Le recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases on the review day with 17, followed by Thanh Khe with 14, Hai Chau with 13, Lien Chieu with 7, Ngu Hanh Son 2, and Son Tra and Hoa Vang with 1.
Currently, there are 12 out of the total 56 wards and communes across the city without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, including Nam Duong and Phuoc Ninh wards in Hai Chau District, Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Phuoc and Hoa Tien communes in Hoa Vang District, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward in Lien Chieu District, Man Thai, Tho Quang, Nai Hien Dong and An Hai Bac wards in Son Tra District and Khue My Ward in Ngu Hanh Son District.
The day's number has pushed the city’s tally in the ongoing wave since July 10 to 4,104.
