Da Nang reports 64 COVID-19 cases on Sept. 5, community-found infections sharply down to 1
Da Nang recorded 64 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, September 5, of which, 42 were in found in designated quarantine facilities, 13 were self-isolating at home, 8 were identified in locked down areas and the remaining 1 was detected in the community.
The only one community-based case is a 28-year-old medical worker at the Son Tra District Medical Centre. He tested positive for the virus following the showing of suspicious symptoms. All of his close contacts have been detected and put under quarantine to curb the further spread of the highly contagious diseases.
As calculated, the infection cluster linked to the ‘one door- one test’ campaign documented 31 cases on Sunday. Meanwhile, the infection chain at the already-shut-down Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, showed signs of subsiding with 17 cases detected on the same day.
Amongst the local districts, Thanh Khe recorded the highest number of 23, followed by Hai Chau with 19, Cam Le with 15, Son Tra with 3, Lien Chieu and Ngu Hanh Son with 2 each.
Currently, there are 15 out of the total 56 wards and communes across the city without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, namely Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Tien, Hoa Phu, Hoa Lien, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong communes in Hoa Vang District, An Hai Bac, Man Thai, An Hai Tay, Phuoc My wards in Son Tra District, Hoa Quy Ward in Ngu Hanh Son District, and Nam Duong, Phuoc Ninh, Hai Chau 1 wards in Hai Chau District.
The city’s COVID-19 infection tally in the ongoing wave has hit 4,338 since July 10.
