Da Nang top leader urges to fix shortcomings in COVID vaccine rollout
Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Thursday afternoon urged authorities at local level and the health agency to fix shortcomings in COVID-19 vaccine rollout in order to make sure that administration of the COVID-19 vaccine is carried out in the city in safe and effective practices.

Secretary Quang asked the health agency to stop the distribution of COVID-19 vaccinces to districts where large gatherings occur in vaccination sites that donot meet the necessary criteria for safety and efficacy. Therefore, the vaccinations will be required to stop immediately in these districts and their leaders must take full responsibility for their localities’ mistakes, the Da Nang top leader emphasised.
Mr Quang directed the health agency to quickly report the results of the city’s latest round of mass community testing to the municipal administration in order to enable accurate assessment of the COVID-19 pandemic situation to be generated. This will help the city make accurately the Red, Orange and Green Zone classification in line with the latest guidance from the Ministry of Health, the Da Nang top leader noted.
The Da Nang Party Chief stated that the COVID-19 situation has been brought under control in the city but new cases have been still found in scope of mass testing. He, therefore, called for drastic action to conduct thorough investigations into new cases, quickly identify all COVID-19 contacts, isolate and test them in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus.
Mr Quang asked authorities at local level to continue to follow the recommended COVID-19 control measures in line with the current direction from the municipal government with a focus on deploying the taskforce to checkpoints in their local areas to work around the clock in a bid to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 rules among local residents.

Municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet remarked that the Da Nang government has earned public praise for further easing of restrictions in additon to receiving suggestions on lifting more restrictions in order to help labourers get back on the job to stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
Mr Triet highlighted need to consider easing more restrictions with proper precautions in place as the coronavirus may never go away and the risk of COVID-19 resurgence remains high in Da Nang.
He underlined the necessity of enhancing public trust in COVID-19 vaccination in efforts to encourage them to show their willingness to get vaccinated.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh said that the city will go ahead with dropping more restrictions in a bid to help local people enter a new normal life if the COVID-19 situation continues to stay under control, and the city sees continued expansion of green zones.
