This National Day (September 2) holiday in Da Nang is different from the previous year as it saw functional forces from military, police, health care to the authorities of residential areas being actively involved in COVID-19 prevention and control missions. In their minds, the joy is only to witness local residents strictly abide by preventive mandates from the current coronavirus resurgence, thus contributing to stamping out the virus at the soonest in the city.

On Thursday morning, the streets of Da Nang were quiet, and the atmosphere of the National Day was shown by the images of national flags along roads and in the alleys of residential areas. The police and medical forces and community-based COVID-19 prevention and control groups were still highly focused on their assigned tasks.
Reportedly, many residents went out for their previously-scheduled COVID-19 vaccine shots on Monday.
The operation of city-wide checkpoints were strictly controlled to prohibit those who were not the vaccinated from taking advantage to go out for the wrong purpose.
Residential groups-based police officers were still diligently patrolling into long, narrow alleys. Likewise , those who joined the conduction of COVID-19 mass testing drives and the vaccination against the virus for locals still stayed at work with a high level of responsibility.
