Da Nang's COVID-19 cases down to 47 on Sept. 4, including 5 detected in the community

Da Nang recorded 47 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, September 4, of which, 25 were in found in designated quarantine facilities, 11 were self-isolating at home, 6 were identified in locked down areas and the remaining 5 were detected in the community.

Out of the 5 community-found cases, 2 had come to the Lien Chieu District Medical Centre and the Hoan My Da Nang Hospital for examination and COVID-19 testing due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms. 

The remaining ones were detected via the ongoing the ‘one door- one test’ campaign with testing applied to household representatives, namely in alley No.72 Dinh Tien Hoang, Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Chau District, a neighbourhood in Binh Thuan Ward, Hai Chau District, and in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, respectively.

Of special note, except for the case detected in alley No.72 Dinh Tien Hoang, the 4 community-acquired cases as above mentioned are of unknown sources of transmissions for the time being.

As calculated, the infection cluster linked to the ‘one door- one test’ campaign documented 19 cases on Saturday. Meanwhile, the infection chain at the already-shut-down Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, showed signs of subsiding with 14 cases detected on the same day.

Amongst the local districts, Thanh Khe recorded the highest number of 14, followed by Hai Chau and Cam Le with 12 each, Lien Chieu with 4, Ngu Hanh Son and Son Tra with 2 each, and Hoa Vang with 1.

Currently, there are 14 out of the total 56 wards and communes across the city without community-acquired cases for 14 consecutive days, namely  Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Tien, Hoa Phu, Hoa Lien and Hoa Nhon communes in Hoa Vang District, An Hai Bac, Man Thai, An Hai Tay, Phuoc My in Son Tra District, Hoa Quy Ward in Ngu Hanh Son District, and Nam Duong, Phuoc Ninh, Hai Chau 1 wards in Hai Chau District.

The city’s COVID-19 infection tally in the ongoing wave has hit 4,274 since July 10.
