On behalf of the city's leaders, Secretary Quang highlighted huge efforts the management boards of residential groups across the city have made to help their local residents with food shopping amid citywide stay-at-home mandate in addition to actively being engaged in the fight against COVID-19 in line with the current direction from the municipal administration.

Mr Quang called on the management boards of residential groups to continue their efforts to help the city’s COVID fight as they play a vital role in the tough battle against the deadly disease.

The Da Nang Party Chief urged the municipal People’s Committee to timely provide grants of VND 3 million for each management board of the residential group. The focus must be on giving COVID-19 vaccines to these people in a bid to make sure that all them receive at least one dose of a vaccine, Mr Quang emphasized.

Secretary Quang demanded authorities at local level to nominate outstanding organizations and individuals who have been actively engaged in the city’s COVID fight for honour rewards.

Mr Quang stated that new COVID-19 cases are on a gradual decline in Da Nang, but it's “still too early to tell, he said.

He said it is worried about the emergence of some COVID-19 cases with unknown sources in the city in recent days while the city has begun to relax some of COVID-19 restrictions. Mr Quang, therefore, highlighted need to strengthen prevention measures and enhance surveillance of designated quarantine facilities and and high-risk areas in efforts to prevent the spread of virus.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh urged authorities at local level to provide timely support for struggling families and the unemployed to help them though this difficult time.

Mr Chinh stated that SARS-CoV-2 positive has been confirmed in some people after leaving quarantine and in those in managed isolation, thereby asking for adequate safety measures that need to be in place in order to minimize the possible risk of spreading the coronavirus in these venues.

Chairman Chinh called on departments, agencies, businesses and districts across the city to tighten controls on all arrivals in the city in an attempt to reduce importation risk of COVID-19.
