Quick assistance for Da Nang residents in locally flooded areas
Torrential downpours triggered by typhoon Conson have left some downtown streets and residential areas in Da Nang partially submerged in water. In a supportive move, Da Nang police forces quickly relocated the affected dwellers in flooded residential areas and sites at a risk of landslides to safety.

Under the instructions made by the Hoa Vang District People's Committee, 140 households with a total of 514 people living in landslides-prone areas landslides in the communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Lien, Hoa Son and Hoa Phu have been evacuated to safety. Rapid antigen testing for SARS-COV-2 has been conducted on the displaced people.
On Sunday afternoon, due to the prolonged heavy rains, inundation occurred in residential groups No. 36 and 37 in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District. About 100 households were partially flooded, the local authorities said.
Groups of police officers and men promptly coordinated with militia staff in the ward to quickly relocate those living in many inundated houses to safety, in tandem with protecting their properties.
Meanwhile, in Khe Can area belonging to residential groups No. 16 - 19, Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, rain water flowed into some houses. The members of 5 households have been moved out of inundated houses to safe places.
If it continues to rain heavily in the coming hours, up to 30 more households in the Khe Can area needs to be relocated to shelter from inundation.
Meanwhile, many families living in low-lying areas have also chosen to relocate to their relatives' houses for safety.

According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, over the past hours, central coastal provinces from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai have experienced heavy downpours.
Rainfall measured from 1:00pm on September 11 to 1:00pm on September 12, localities from Quang Tri to Da Nang suffered heavy rains of 100 -250 mm and over 300 mm in some places.
In Da Nang alone, the measured rainfall in Son Tra District reached 423.6mm, whilst Thanh Khe District 395.8mm, Hai Chau District 372mm, the Marble Mountains site 243mm, Cam Le District 336mm, Cu De River in Hoa Bac Commune 356mm, Dong Nghe Lake 398.8mm, Hoa Trung Lake in Hoa Lien Commune 262.4mm.
