Da Nang detects 2 new cases of COVID-19 after 14 days of no community infections

Da Nang has just detected 2 positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, the municipal Health Department confirmed on Tuesday evening.

In detail, one is a 48-year-old male real estate trader who returned home in Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang from coronavirus-stricken Ho Chi Minh City on VietJet flight 632 on October 14. Of special note, he has received 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, on July 7 and September 13 respectively.

The other is his older brother, 52, living in the same house. The second patient received the first shot against the virus on August 27.

The Da Nang Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has just publicly announced the travel history of the new above-mentioned COVID-19 cases, especially sites they had visited before they tested positive for the virus.

As a precaution, anyone who visited at locations at specific times as follow or come into contact with the aforementioned patients should monitor their health and contact the nearest medical facility for medical declarations, timely COVID-19 testing and other supportive moves against potential infections in line with the existing regulations.

Around 4:10pm on October 14: taking a ride on a Daco taxi from the Da Nang International Airport to 259 Le Duan, Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District.

October 15 - 16: attending a funeral at 259 Le Duan

Afternoon on October 16: attending a funeral procession from 259 Le Duan to Hoa Son cemetery in Hoa Vang District

Around 7:00am on October 18: Dong Tien Bakery on Ong Ich Khiem Street (a section near the old GO! supermarket, known as the former Big C Da Nang Mall, near electrical stores).

Around 7:00am on October 19: a fish porridge shop on Hung Vuong Street (near the GO supermarket).

Also on Tuesday evening, the People's Committee of Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District issued an urgent notice to track down those who attended the aforementioned funeral at 259 Le Duan Street from October 14 – 16 amid a fear over more potential infections. 

As required, attendees must go in-person to the Tan Chinh Ward Medical Station at 401 Le Duan, phone: 0236.3830026 or the nearest medical facility for advice and requirements. At the same time, they must take measures to monitor health and limit contact with others for coronavirus prevention.
