Mr Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, the Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council asked authorities at local level to increase checks and enhance monitoring of production establishments, shopping centres and services to make sure they are using a QR code for visitor management or face tough penalties for non-compliance in an attempt to mitigate the risk of virus spread.

The use of QR codes is compulsory for crowded venues and public transport services in line with the guidance from the Da Nang government dated on October 15, Mr Triet emphasized.

He stated that some production facilities, eating and drinking establishments were found failing to comply with rules around QR code check-in.

Mr Triet said that Da Nang boasts better experience during the pandemic for effective control of COVID-19. He called on each individuals and each family across Da Nang to continue their efforts to play their part in the fight against the deadly disease, and take action to protect themselves and others amid the city’s transition to the new normal.

He directed the health agency to create and release family handbook which provides the guidance to stay safe and prevent the spread of the virus.

The health agency was tasked to administer COVID-19 jabs to senior high school pupils in safe and effective practices before they return to in-person learning.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh emphasized that increasing number of people returning to Da Nang from other parts of the country poses COVID-19 threat. He, therefore, stressed the need to maintain strict controls at entry points and keep a close watch on people entering and returning to Da Nang from outside the city as blanket policy to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 importations or reintroduction from these people.

Chairman Chinh remarked that compliance with the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health, especially health declaration, is compulsory for entering venues across Da Nang.
