Da Nang logs 2 new coronavirus cases in managed isolation on Oct. 19, zero community cases over past 14 days

Da Nang recorded 2 new COVID-19 cases on October 19 which were found in managed isolation, the municipal Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said in its fresh bulletin.

Up to now, Da Nang has gone 19 days without recording any COVID-19 cases in the community.

In detail, the 2 aforementioned cases were returnees from coronavirus-stricken Ho Chi Minh City, both of whom had previously tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 during stay at centralised quarantine facilities.

Also on the same day, a combined total of 9,518 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 7,710 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Today, Da Nang handled 122 returnees from other pandemic-struck localities nationwide, all of whom were put under mandatory quarantine in line with the regulations.

Currently, 57 returnees are undergoing mandatory quarantine at the local authorities- designated centralised facilities whilst 772 others are self-quarantining at home.

A combined total of 365 people are now subject to compulsory quarantine in 15 centralised facilities.

Till date, all of the total 56 communes and wards citywide have been labelled as ‘green zones’ where neither community-acquired cases nor locked-down sites have been logged over the past 14 days.

Up to now, 981,215 out of the already received 1,007,856 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.
Of the vaccinated people through out Da Nang, 128,477 have received a full 2-dose course of COVID-19 vaccines.

Since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started in Da Nang, its caseload tally has stayed at 4,684.
