Da Nang reports 2 new cases of COVID-19 on Oct. 30, including one found in community

On October 30, Da Nang recorded two new cases of COVID-19, of which one was found in the community whilst the other was detected in a local centralised quarantine facility.

In detail, the community-acquired patient was a truck driver with permanent residence in coronavirus- stricken Ho Chi Minh City. He came to Da Nang and temporarily stay on Ngo Tu Ha Street, Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District.

He took the initiative to go in- person to the An Duc clinic, Lien Chieu District, Da Namg for COVID-19 testing. Surprisingly, the man tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

This patient received 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine on August 10 and September 29, respectively.

On October 25, the patient was permitted to enter Da Nang through a quarantine checkpoint in Hoa Phuoc Commune.

Of special note, the patient did not take a rapid antigen test at this checkpoint because his certificate of a negative test result for the virus was still valid at that time.

As for his travel and contact history ,on October 26, 27 and 28, the patient bought food at Linh Thu restaurant, opposite 55 Ngo Tu Ha, Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District.

From 1:00pm – 2:00pm on October 28, the patient bought water at a cafe next to Linh Thu shop.

As a precaution, anyone who visited at locations at specific times as follow or come into contact with the aforementioned patient should monitor their health and contact the nearest medical facility for medical declarations, timely COVID-19 testing and other supportive moves against potential infections in line with the existing regulations.

The second COVID-19 case recorded on Saturday is a resident at K318 Nui Thanh, Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District. He returned to Da Nang from Ho Chi Minh City on October 21.

This patient found to be infected with the virus during mandatory stay in a local centralised quarantine facility as a close coronavius contact.

The patient tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 on October 23 and 26, respectively.

On Saturday, Da Nang handled 112 returnees from other pandemic-struck localities nationwide, all of whom were put under mandatory quarantine in accordance with the regulations.

Currently, 23 returnees are undergoing mandatory quarantine at the local authorities- designated centralised facilities whilst 763 others are self-quarantining at home.

The city now has four blockaded sites, putting 56 households with a combined total of 198 people under lockdown. Of them, 79 residents belonging to 18 sealed-off families are logged in Hai Chau District, whilst the rest are identified in Thanh Khe District.

A combined total of 235 people are put under compulsory quarantine in eight centralised facilities.

Up to now, 1,030,441 out of the already received 1,124,856 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.

Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 858, 098 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 172, 343 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.

Da Nang’s coronavirus infection tally has reached at 4,717 since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started here.
