The Da Nang leader highlighted the need to maintain tight controls at entry points in the city. In addition, he remarked that the city is willing to provide the best possible support for people who go through Da Nang on their way home from the Southern localities. The focus should be on providing food and essential support for them in order to facilitate a safe return to home, Mr Chinh emphasized.

Mr Chinh stated that the city is projected to see a significant rise in the number of people who go through Da Nang on their way home from the Southern localities in the coming time, thereby asking for tight controls at entry points and close watch on people coming from other localities.

Mr Chinh asked officials to strictly enforce COVID-19 rules and impose tough penalties for illegal entry into the city.

“The COVID-19 outbreak has been brought under control in Da Nang. There have been no cases of COVID-19 to report in the community in Da Nang in recent days, and all newly-confirmed cases have been in managed isolation. However, the risk of COVID-19 resurgence remains very high in Da Nang amid the city’s reopening and the complex developments of the pandemic in other localities”, Mr Chinh said.

The Da Nang government leader called on citizens across the city to continue to comply with the recommended health and safety protocols, especially the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health, in order to protect themselves and others.

Chairman Chinh directed the health sector to continue to roll out city-wide vaccination scheme with high priority given to older adults with underlying medical conditions and pregnant women, as well as accelerate the city’s second-dose COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
