Intensive Care Center for critically ill COVID-19 patients established in Da Nang

The Da Nang government has decided to turn some parts of Rehabilitation Hospital into Intensive Care Center which is now dedicated to critically ill patients with COVID-19.

The B zone which is treatment area of the Rehabilitation Hospital located in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District will be used as the Intensive Care Center of Da Nang Hospital. The centre will provide 100 critical care beds for COVID-19 patients.

The A zone which is administrative area of the Rehabilitation Hospital will offer 50 beds to COVID-19 patients who remain asymptomatic or have mild illness.

The establishment of the Intensive Care Center aims to provide effective treatment for critically ill patients with COVID-19 and reduce COVID related deaths. The new center is prepared for a rise in COVID-19 cases hitting over 2,000.

Da Nang is adopting the three-tiered approach to care for patients with COVID-19 in an attempt to provide effective treatment for infected patients and reduce numbers of COVID-19 deaths.

The third tier will be based either at the Da Nang Lung Hospital or the new Intensive Care Center to treat severely-ill patients depending on the number of COVID-19 cases reported at below or more 2,000 respectively.
